Computer People

Computer People is part one of the world's largest recruitment organisations, which includes Adecco, Office Angels, Ajilon and many others. Computer People had over 500 staff matching employers' requirements against candidates' skills, location and availability, based in offices all over the country. They receive many hundreds of CVs each day, which may be new or updates of existing CVs.

NetSpan developed an intranet application based on a SQL Server database, with sophisticated text processing to extract skills automatically from the CVs, avoiding the need for human processing and thereby enabling the candidate database to be kept up-to-date.

Flexible search capabilities enabled consultants to find candidates in a matter of seconds, rather than many minutes, so they could provide a better service to their clients.

The total cost of development over 3 years was half of one year's maintenance of the system they had previously used.
